Connemara & Cong with Kylemore Abbey & Gardens Tour is for those who prefer to travel off the beaten track – We will take you to places that you would never find with Google maps, from Ross Errily Friary. Used as a set for “Reign”, a TV series about the life of Mary Queen of Scots and on to the Village of Cong.
Cong is an island village in the heart of rural Ireland, with forest walks and 800 year old ruins of Abbeys and Monks Cottages. This stop has something for everyone, from the rare John Wayne fans who would like to walk in the footsteps of the Duke to the coffee lovers who would prefer to sit by the river and watch the ducks paddling by while sipping away on a coffee and maybe munching on a slice of carrot cake from Puddleducks 😉
Entering the wilderness of Connemara on the Lough Nafooey route allows you to see the stark beauty of the hidden valleys of Connemara before travelling the Wild Atlantic Way arriving at the famous Killary Fjord. The tour then continues to Kylemore Abbey and Gardens for at least 2 hours before turning for home via the Inagh Valley. The stop at Kylemore Abbey has ample time for lunch & sightseeing & discounted entrance tickets to the Abbey & Gardens are available from the tour driver on the day.
(The discounted price for Kylemore Abbey & Gardens in 2018 is €8 and from 1st of Janurary 2019 is €9:50 per person)
